Description

One of the places to which the universe has given beautiful wonders is in Mexico and is the great Yucatan Peninsula, with its grand cenotes or natural wells that captivate the eyes of those people who have had the majestic opportunity to visit them.

All this peninsula has been formed by nature based on porous graded stones, which were drilled throughout the centuries of the planet by rainwater that is leaking into the subsoil thereof; In this way, some species of vaults have emerged that have collapsed, giving the beginning of these deep holes that have become natural beauties of high magnitude, since that water located in the depths of each of the cenotes has acquired a greenish blue color.

The Mayans of the Yucatan Peninsula are the second Mesoamerican people of Mexico in numerical terms and are the heirs of what is considered the most dazzling civilization of pre-Columbian America. Among the indigenous regions of Mexico, the Yucatan peninsula occupies a privileged place as far as human and cultural wealth is concerned. Seat of one of the most numerous ethnic groups of the Mayan linguistic family, the arbitrary division into three states of the Mexican republic – Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo – poorly conceals the existence of a common cultural matrix of ancient and strong Mesoamerican roots. Scattered in these three political entities, and extending even over the neighboring territory of Belize, the Mayans are nowadays one of the indigenous nuclei of greater quantitative and qualitative weight of Indian Mexico.
