Description

Fascinate with the natural and ancestral beauties that the Yucatan Peninsula has to offer, we will visit various points, which are of great importance for the Mayan culture.

Tulum is the best and most well-known example of the East Coast style, a name that designates the architectural type of Mayan buildings built on the north coast of Quintana Roo between 1200 and 1520 AD. Being on the highest elevation of the region and for its efficient defensive system, this site was an unavoidable settlement for any commercial route and for the exploitation of the rich marine resources of the coast of Quintana Roo.

The Mayan archaeological site of Cobá is located about ninety kilometers east of Chichen Itza and about forty northwest of Tulum, has an area of just over 70 square kilometers and a network of 45 roads (or sacbés) that connects the various sets of the site, and with other smaller communities, that surely depended on their domain.

In Uxmal the most impressive structure, with a unique elliptical shape and a height of more than 35 meters, is La Casa del Adivino; According to an ancient legend, this pyramid was raised by a dwarf in only one night, although in reality it was built in five stages and designed in such a way that its stairway faces east, towards sunset on the solstice Of summer.

Kabah is characteristic of the region since the ruins extend on both sides of the road in a very large area of jungle, are located in the lower part of a valley, surrounded by hills of medium height where you can see small temples at its peak, where from the horizon you can see the main buildings of Nohpat and Uxmal.

The archaeological zone of Chichén Itzá, in Yucatan, is a Cultural Heritage of Mexico, and due to its importance, it was recognized internationally, when it was declared and it was inscribed in the list of World Heritage by UNESCO, in 1988.

These and more experiences await you on this magnificent tour.
