Long description

We will begin this journey full of history and culture in the city of Valladolid, a historical and heroic city, capital of eastern Yucatan, located 160km from the city of Mérida. Two great passages in the history of Mexico took place here: The Caste War in which the Mayans did not recognize the policies of that system, which put them at a disadvantage; and the First Spark of the Mexican Revolution of 1910. Conquered by Francisco de Montejo “El Sobrino” in 1543 and recently named the Magical Town of Mexico, in Valladolid we can taste the exquisite Yucatecan food with a special local touch, for example, trying the famous Loins of Valladolid.

We will cool off in the crystal clear waters of a cenote and then we will go to the beautiful city of Izamal, 80km away. This was the first Magical Town of Mexico. They call it the City of Three Cultures because in it you can see the three historical periods: Its archaeological pyramids as a pillar of its Mayan heritage, the convent that is an indelible mark of Spanish influence with its atrium, considered the second largest in the world and its current inhabitants, Yucatecans proud of their culture, kind and gentle people. At the end we return to the white Mérida.
